What is Complementary Therapy?
Complementary therapies are used alongside conventional medicine. Most
therapies are not new and have been used throughout history.
It differs from conventional medicine because therapists look into the client's
lifestyle as well as underlying issues. For example, a client who is
overweight, may be over eating to delay everyday events, or because they lack
motivation, for comfort or even to make themselves feel less noticeable.
What therapists DO NOT do is diagnose illnesses.
What is Complementary therapy
more commonly used for?
Complementary Therapy is more commonly used for behavioural and long term problems such as back
pain, arthritis, digestive problems, anxiety, depression, migraine, asthma etc.
