Who can benefit from Hypnotherapy?

**Anyone who wants to make positive changes to their lives**

Do you have difficulty changing habits which affect your life such as comfort eating, smoking?  Do you worry about something which no one else seems to be concerned about.  Do you have a deep seated fear or phobia which is effecting your ability to lead a normal healthy life such as a fear of spiders, birds, dentists or driving?

Are you about to make a speech for work, an event or even a wedding and you feel it will spoil the whole day?  Maybe you are about to take part in a sporting event and you fear the pressure to do well will affect your performance.

What is Hypnosis?

In Hypnosis you are in a relaxed state, where your conscious mind ceases to be so active, but your subconscious mind is in a state of heightened awareness. This is the same as when you find yourself daydreaming and are oblivious of your surroundings, or when you drive on autopilot. Your subconscious mind has taken over, but when your conscious mind is needed, it takes over in a split second.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to bring about desired changes. Mutually agreed positive suggestions are picked up by your subconscious mind whilst you are in the relaxed state of hypnosis. You will never be out of control or do anything you disagree with or which is against your normal moral or ethical code.

What is the role of the Hypnotherapist?

Through the power of suggestion, the hypnotherapist acts as a guide for your subconscious, facilitating changes by placing positive suggestions into your subconscious mind, using pictures and scripts to help change the way you think.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Clients can be hypnotised if they want to be. However, a therapist would never attempt to hypnotise those intoxicated by alcohol, drugs or those with psychiatric conditions.
