Onsite Massage
Onsite massage or seated acupressure is based on a traditional Japanese form of acupressure called Anma.
Unlike the other massages, this is performed through clothes and on a specialised chair which has been designed to support the back and neck, whilst the massage is performed on the back, shoulders, neck, head, arms and hands. The special seat enables the therapist to work deeply using pressure techniques. By working on tsubos or acupoints, blocked energy is released.
If this concept does not sit well with you, it may be easier to think of it as working into a muscle, or the nerves which run between muscles and joints which then relax as the pressure is withdrawn.
Due to the fact clothes are worn and no oils are used, seated acupressure can be done almost anywhere such as the office or workplace where clients can receive a session with minimal disruption to their work.
Another benefit of this type of massage is that it draws the crowds, so it is especially useful at seminars, business events, pamper evenings etc. The session times can be tailored to the needs of the client or contractor. Sessions can be from 15 – 30 minutes.
